Sarah’s film “And Then Some” Stars Wonderbound Company Dancers Jocelyn Green and Evan Pitts, was filmed on June 4, 2020 at Wonderbound.

With music, lyrics and performance by Rae McAlister, the film illustrates the inevitability of connection and the enchantment of finding union in unlikely places. Energy is palpable. There is a spirit of connection that we each express through various aspects of our stories. It is my feeling that our truest nature is born of love, thereby making the potential in finding it paradoxical and fun. You might even call it a game and if so, make it a good one! Rae’s music encompasses quixotic delight and instantly creates an insatiable dreamscape from which to create other worlds. The pleasure of her voice and metaphorical context illustrates both whimsey and nostalgia. And Then Some was made for the purpose of joy.

The mission of FRCBC is to connect with audiences through dance performances that integrate the abilities of highly-trained ballet dancers with innovative movements and choreographic endeavors that speak to the human experience. R

Kirk Petty:

I have been playing piano for 55 years. My main emphasis has been on blues, rock, and funk playing. I am excited to share my love of music with students. My philosophy is to prepare students to play "off the page," without needing to have music in front of them. I play mostly by ear, and with chord charts, but musical literacy is important, so of course my students will also learn theory and how to read music. My emphasis will be on getting students to be able to play well with others, how to back up someone who is soloing, and how to improvise and shine when it's your turn.

My short list of keyboard heroes includes Bill Payne (Little Feat), Chuck Leavell (Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and more), Dr. John, Nicky Hopkins, Leon Russell, Steve Winwood, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, and Billy Preston.

Chimney Choir- combines folk harmonies, ambient electronics, and swirling textures of rhythm and melody into a style of music that is not easy to define. They began in 2011 with a guitar, banjo, mandolin, and suitcase drum and have since toured the country extensively, recorded and released five recordings, and developed layers of electronics, live looping, and percussion. They still remain fascinated with folk music and traditions while they constantly evolve and experiment - their performances often take on a theatrical quality that has incorporated puppetry, ritual, dance, storytelling, interactive video and even a sci-fi mini-drama. Their newest album, Light Shadow was released in January 2020.
